A brief blog post dedicated to some of Anatoly Karpov’s games played during the last half-decade of the Soviet era.

This blog has already featured many tournaments and matches from the career of the 12th World Champion. In addition, a page has been dedicated to two of his games collections published in the Soviet Union, covering the period 1969-1984. The present page features some games played by Karpov during the final years of the USSR. They can be downloaded, with translations of Karpov’s own annotations from the contemporary Soviet chess press, via the links below.
